La Paz – Eating

Here’s some restaurants to check out in La Paz. Our preference is for great food at a good value. Don’t quote us on the hours of operation, always good to verify for yourself. (Links are not shown to reduce site hackers.)

NOTE 2023: There was not so much dining out during the pandemic…but many of our favorites are still in business. Takeout is often an option and many places have outdoor seating.

Great hangout for both gringos and Mexicanos. Lots of baked items, breakfast and lunch. Has some interesting themed souvenir clothing and gift items. Air con inside for the really hot days, and lovely patio in the back. Original location on Madero just north of 5 de Mayo is a few doors down from Pan de Les. Really nice sandwiches, not the usual.

Mexico is not known for sandwiches but this place has it nailed. Plus lots of cold and shelf-stable Costco items at a reasonable markup. And more hard-to-find gringo items: canned kidney beans, horseradish, Ortega roasted green chiles, etc.
