Voyager is a 1999 Catalina 470 sloop hull number 11 (47’ LOA) with fin keel option and spade rudder. A performance cruiser designed with both coastal and offshore sailing in mind, this two-owner vessel has been carefully maintained and upgraded for both comfort and safety.
Down below it feels like a much larger boat, including approximately 7 feet of headroom in the expansive salon. Extensive storage throughout (hanging and shelved lockers, bilge compartments, and open shelving). Accommodations are roomy for living aboard and cruising alone or with guests including two staterooms, two heads with enclosed showers and electric toilets. The aft centerline queen owner’s stateroom has a vanity table with light and mirror, plus two nightstands with drawers.
For entertaining, the salon has a C-shaped dinette with seating for 6 – 8 and a long bench settee that will allow even a tall person to lie down (includes lee cloth). Both functional and ambiance lighting abounds. The salon table can also be lowered for another large berth. The nav station to starboard has a teak desk with seat plus storage for small gear and manuals.
The highly functional galley has a gimbaled 3-burner propane stove/oven with exhaust hood, 12 cu. ft. of refrigeration/freezer capacity, a large stainless sink, custom faucet, great task lighting, five gallon-sized trash storage, numerous cabinets/drawers, and a lighted glassware cabinet. Its U-shape allows the user to lean and lock themselves in while underway.
Voyager’s spacious cockpit aft is very comfortable with ample seating and added custom backrests. The open transom with propane storage and boarding ladder is great for ingress/egress and even a lovely spot to sit and dangle your feet in the water on a nice day. Comfortable while underway as well as for entertaining at anchor/dock, it can be completely enclosed with its side panels, dodger, bimini and connector – for all-weather enjoyment. This vessel is happy away from the dock for as long as you like, with a large solar array and watermaker. Diesel tankage was modified to enable long passages with ~144 gallons of fuel. You’ll be able to communicate wherever you go with VHF and Starlink. The dinghy and its integral outboard are easily deployed from the arch that supports the most of the solar array.
Sailing setting and reefing is a breeze because lines are managed from the cockpit, easily and safely sailed by a cruising couple and some owners even sail solo. Two of the four winches are electric and there is an extensive set of rope clutches on the cabin top. The jib/genoa is roller furling and the mainsail has a furling mast, both enabling infinite reefing options. Voyager also has an asymmetrical spinnaker with its own furler. Typical sailing speed is 6 to 8 knots. Its high freeboard makes for a comfortable and dry ride. The Rocna anchor and electric windlass make for secure anchoring and easy retrieval.
Voyager’s navigation suite is Raymarine equipped with a large multifunction chartplotter, digital radar, dual Edson helms each with their own Ritchie compass and autopilot control head, plus instrument displays in the cockpit and under the dodger, and a Multiview below deck at the chart table.
This boat is turn-key ready to cruise on and live aboard with a long inventory of spare parts, a well-equipped galley and an ample assortment of household comforts and essential tools. There are even a few optional/negotiable add-ons (e.g. inflatable paddleboards).
